J’ai le plaisir vous informer que suite au travail remarquable de l’exécutif du chapitre de Niagara et avec le support unanime des membres de l'exécutif du LMI, le chapitre a sécurisé une nouvelle date pour la tenue du gala international de Niagara; le tout est reporté du 27 au 30 mai 2021.

La rencontre générale annuelle du LMI ainsi que la rencontre de l’exécutif, lesquelles étaient prévues pour le 12 juin 2020, auront toujours lieu par conférence électronique. De plus, les nominations pour les prix "Jean-Pierre Jobin" et "Tom Devitt" sont toujours en cours.

Le chapitre de Niagara communiquera très bientôt avec tous ceux qui s’étaient enregistrés pour les informer des différents détails.

Même si nous de l'exécutif LMI sommes très peinés de ne pouvoir nous rassembler pour fêter en juin, nous sommes très heureux de pouvoir regarder en avant pour une fête encore plus grande en 2021.

Je souhaite à tous les marmitons, ainsi qu’à leur famille, une bonne santé et j’espère pouvoir aller cuisiner avec vous bientôt.

Hello my friends,

I am pleased to advise that due to the remarkable efforts of the Niagara chapter executive, and with the unanimous support of the LMI Board, the chapter has secured a new date for the Niagara Gala. It will be postponed to May 27-30, 2021.

The LMI annual general meeting and board meeting, which were both scheduled for June 12, 2020, will proceed by electronic means. Also, nominations for the Jean-Pierre Jobin and Tom Devitt Awards are still open!

There will be communications coming from the Niagara Chapter very shortly to all registrants with further details.

While we at LMI are very disappointed that we will not be gathering to celebrate in June, we are excited to begin looking forward to an even grander celebration in 2021.

I wish all Marmitons and their families good health, and look forward to cooking together again soon.

Nous traversons présentement une période exceptionnelle. J’aimerais d’abord vous souhaiter, ainsi qu’à vos familles, une bonne santé. Je souhaite que nous sortions tous grandis de cette tempête exceptionnelle et unique.

Le bureau de direction et les présidents de chapitres de LMI auront un appel conférence, la semaine prochaine et nous devrions vous communiquer une mise à jour au sujet du prochain gala. Le chapitre de Niagara a travaillé intensément à l’élaboration de plans d’urgence.

Je voulais simplement vous rappeler que la devise de notre club, « L’amitié par la gastronomie », signifie non seulement l’amitié entre nos membres, mais aussi l’amitié et le soutien mutuel avec la remarquable communauté des chefs et des restaurants de chacune de nos sections locales. Ces chefs sont très durement touchés par cette crise, et si vous pouvez les aider, en achetant des aliments à emporter et des certificats-cadeaux, faites-le.

Faites attention à vous, et j’ai hâte de cuisiner avec vous tous bientôt.

Dear Marmitons,

This is an extraordinary time for all of us. Let me first say that I wish you and your families all good health, and to express the hope that we will all emerge stronger from this once the storm passes.

The LMI Board and Presidents will be having a conference call next week, and we should have some news about the Gala soon. The Niagara Chapter has been diligently working on contingency plans.

I just wanted to remind you all that our club motto, “Friendship through Gastronomy” means not only friendship among our members, but friendship and mutual support with the remarkable community of chefs and restaurants in our Chapter locales. They are being hit very hard by this crisis, and if you can support them with purchases of take-out foods and gift certificates, please do.
